What do we do?

Dog Walking

While letting your dog run around the back garden or taking him for a walk around the block might be good exercise, it isn’t really a substitute for a good walk. These activities don’t offer the same mental stimulation your dog gets by investigating every smell, sight, and sound when he or she gets taken out for a walk to explore the great outdoors.

‘Who’s walking who?’ provide a fun, friendly, safe and reliable way to exercise your dog when circumstances don’t allow you to do it yourself. Our walkers will look after your dog as if it were our own, giving him or her the opportunity to run off steam, have a roll in the grass, or just have a nice sedate walk in pleasant surroundings in and around the Stockport area.

We offer walking in a variety of ways as different dogs have different needs - young dogs are excitable and always want to play, more mature dogs are still playful but also want some space to investigate interesting scents or sounds, and older pets can just fancy a leisurely stroll. We always try to match personalities wherever possible to give your dog the most enjoyable experience when out and about on a walk. Some dogs need more personal space or are not quite as sociable as others, so we offer the option of solo dog walks to meet these needs.

Dogs can be walked on or off lead depending on your preference and how well they respond to a recall command. Dogs will always be kept on a lead by our walkers where the route dictates it and in potentially dangerous places like car parks, etc.

Our dog walking routes primarily centre around woodland and riverside areas in Stockport and, as a result of our wonderful british weather,  your dog will unavoidably get wet or muddy from time to time. As part of the dog walking service we offer we will give your dog a rub down to dry them off, and make sure they have ample water available to them when they return home. We ask that you leave out towels that can be used for this purpose when the weather has been bad, as we only carry a limited supply. If you prefer your dog to be left in a different room that is easier to clean (e.g.: the kitchen) or brought it via a different entrance when they have been rubbed down then please let us know.

Dog walking bookings are flexible depending on your requirements and there are no restrictions such as minimum number of days, etc. that you might find elsewhere.

Puppy & kitten visits

It is inadvisable to leave a new puppy or kitten alone for more than 3-4 hours during the day. Young animals can suffer from seperation anxiety, they are still learning to control thier bodily functions and they need mental simulation to help them to develop properly.

‘Who’s walking who?’ will visit your home while you’re at work or otherwise engaged and give them some company, a chance to relieve themselves and some fun filled playtime. What happens during the visit depends on whether your puppy is vaccinated or not. For un-vaccinated puppies and kittens the visit will include the following tasks and last around 20 minutes

During a visit to an un-vaccinated puppy or a kitten we will:

  • Clean up any little ‘accidents’ that may have occurred
  • Let them out into a controlled environment to stretch thier legs and use the loo (if available)
controlled environment refers to a fully fenced garden or secure enclosed outdoor area (e.g.:backyard or similar)
  • Make sure they have plenty of water and give them thier lunch (if required)
  • Give them some attention and play time
  • Let them out for a final chance to use the loo
  • Settle them down in thier familiar area

For vaccinated puppies (over 4 months old) we will:

  • Clean up any little ‘accidents’ that may have occurred
  • Take them out for a short solo dog walk in the local area to socialise them with other people, children and animals
  • Make sure they have plenty of water and give them thier lunch (if required)
  • Let them out for a final chance to use the loo
  • Settle them down in thier familiar area

Visits to vaccinated puppies last around 25-30 minutes
